About This Story

Tonight's story is called Ruqqayyah and the Sleeping Star. When Ruqqayyah finds a tiny star resting in the grass of her grandmother's plains, she is told it has been placed in her care until it is strong enough to return to the sky. At first, Ruqqayyah is excited but a little careless, and the star begins to dim. She learns that real care means showing up for something small, again and again, even when no one is watching. By the end, Ruqqayyah discovers that looking after something gently and faithfully is an amanah — a trust from الله (Allah) — and that trust, kept with love, always shines back brighter than before.
