Welcome to Salaam Sleep.

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the Salaam Sleep website, progressive web application, stories, audio content, subscriptions and related services.

By creating an account, starting a free trial, purchasing a subscription or otherwise using Salaam Sleep, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use Salaam Sleep.

1. About Salaam Sleep

Salaam Sleep is a digital bedtime-story service designed to provide children and families with Islamic bedtime stories and related bedtime experiences.

Features may include:

• Islamic bedtime stories
• Audio narration
• Story collections
• Bedtime streaks
• Rewards and gifts
• Parent bedtime voice messages
• Child avatars or profiles
• Offline or downloaded content
• Notifications
• Other family-focused features

Features may be added, changed or removed as Salaam Sleep develops.

2. Parent or Guardian Accounts

Salaam Sleep is intended to be managed by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult.

Children should not independently create accounts, purchase subscriptions or provide payment information.

The adult account holder is responsible for:

• The account
• Information provided through the account
• Child profiles or avatars they create
• Parent voice recordings they submit
• Subscription payments
• Use of Salaam Sleep by children under their supervision

You must provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account.

3. Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.

You should not knowingly allow another person to access your account without your permission.

If you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation, please contact Salaam Sleep support.

We may take reasonable steps to protect an account where we suspect unauthorised access, misuse or security risks.

4. Free Trial

Eligible new customers may receive a 7-day free trial of Salaam Sleep.

Additional trial days may be available through eligible activities, rewards, gifts or streaks.

The maximum free-trial period available through these extensions is currently 15 days.

Trial rewards may be subject to eligibility requirements.

A reward cannot normally be claimed repeatedly where it is intended to be a one-time reward.

We reserve the right to prevent abuse, manipulation or fraudulent use of free trials and trial rewards.

Creating multiple accounts for the purpose of repeatedly obtaining free trials may be considered misuse of the service.

5. End of Free Trial

When your free trial ends, access to subscription-only features may be restricted until you purchase a subscription.

Starting a free trial does not necessarily mean that you have purchased a paid subscription.

Where payment details are requested for a trial that automatically converts into a paid subscription, this will be clearly communicated before you confirm the trial.

Where the trial does not automatically convert, you will need to actively subscribe to continue accessing paid features.

The checkout screen presented to you will explain the applicable arrangement before you commit.

6. Salaam Sleep Subscription

Salaam Sleep is currently offered at:

£4.99 per month

unless another price, promotion or subscription arrangement is clearly displayed when you subscribe.

Your applicable price will be shown before you confirm payment.

Subscriptions are generally billed monthly.

7. Automatic Renewal

Unless clearly stated otherwise during checkout, paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, you authorise our payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fee at each renewal.

You may cancel your subscription to prevent future renewals.

8. Payments

Payments may be processed securely through Stripe or another payment provider displayed during checkout.

Your payment provider may collect and process your payment information directly.

Salaam Sleep does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card details where payment processing is handled by the payment provider.

You are responsible for ensuring your payment information remains accurate and valid.

9. Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails, we or our payment provider may attempt to collect the payment again.

You may be asked to update your payment information.

Access to paid features may be restricted or suspended where payment remains outstanding.

We will aim to avoid unnecessarily interrupting access while a legitimate payment issue is being resolved, but continued subscription access requires a valid paid subscription.

10. Cancelling Your Subscription

You may cancel your subscription through the available subscription-management or billing controls.

Where you have already paid for the current billing period, cancellation will normally stop the next renewal while allowing access until the end of the period already paid for.

Your subscription will then end unless you subscribe again.

Deleting the application from your device does not by itself cancel a paid subscription.

You should use the provided cancellation or subscription-management process.

11. Price Changes

We may change the price of Salaam Sleep in the future.

Where a change affects an existing recurring subscription, we will provide any notice required by applicable law before the new price takes effect.

You will have the opportunity to cancel where applicable.

12. Refunds

Nothing in these Terms removes any refund, cancellation or consumer rights you are entitled to under applicable UK law.

Where you believe a payment has been made incorrectly or you are entitled to a refund, please contact Salaam Sleep support.

Refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the payment.

13. Digital Content

Salaam Sleep provides digital content and services.

Stories, audio, graphics, illustrations, branding, designs and other content provided through Salaam Sleep are intended for personal and family use.

Purchasing a subscription gives you permission to access the applicable Salaam Sleep content while you have the relevant access rights.

It does not transfer ownership of that content to you.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, Salaam Sleep and/or its licensors own or have the right to use the intellectual property associated with the service.

This may include:

• Stories
• Written content
• Audio
• Narration
• Illustrations
• Graphics
• Characters
• Logos
• Branding
• Designs
• Software
• User interface elements
• Videos
• Marketing materials

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, redistribute, scrape, commercially exploit or create unauthorised copies of Salaam Sleep content.

You may not make Salaam Sleep stories or audio publicly available without permission.

Normal personal and family use of the service is permitted.

15. Parent Voice Recordings

Salaam Sleep may allow parents or guardians to create a personal bedtime voice message.

You are responsible for the content you record.

You should only record content that you have the right to provide.

Do not use the feature to upload unlawful, harmful, abusive or inappropriate material.

By submitting a recording, you give Salaam Sleep the limited permission necessary to store, process and play the recording for the purpose of providing the bedtime-message feature.

You retain ownership of your original recording.

Salaam Sleep does not obtain ownership of your voice merely because you use the recording feature.

We will not intentionally use parent voice recordings for advertising or AI model training without separate appropriate permission.

You may replace or delete recordings using the controls provided.

16. Children's Use of Salaam Sleep

Salaam Sleep provides content intended to be enjoyed by children under adult supervision.

The parent or guardian account holder remains responsible for their child's use of the service.

Salaam Sleep is not intended to replace parental supervision.

Parents should decide which content and features are appropriate for their children.

17. Islamic Content

Salaam Sleep aims to provide respectful, family-friendly Islamic stories and content.

We take reasonable care when preparing Islamic material and aim for content to be suitable for the intended audience.

However, educational and religious topics can sometimes involve differences in interpretation, terminology or scholarly opinion.

Salaam Sleep should not be treated as a replacement for qualified Islamic scholarship or individual religious advice.

If you believe a story contains an Islamic, factual or other content error, please report it through the available support or reporting system.

We may review, correct, update or withdraw content where appropriate.

18. Story Availability

The selection of stories and other content available through Salaam Sleep may change.

We may:

• Add new stories
• Update existing stories
• Correct stories
• Replace audio
• Remove content
• Temporarily unpublish content
• Change story availability
• Change how stories are selected or recommended

We do not guarantee that a particular story will remain available indefinitely.

19. Offline Content

Certain content may be available for offline use.

Offline content may depend on:

• Your device
• Available storage
• Browser or PWA functionality
• Whether content has been downloaded
• Application updates
• Account status

Clearing browser/application data, deleting downloads or uninstalling Salaam Sleep may remove locally stored content.

Offline access does not transfer ownership of downloaded content to you.

20. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep Salaam Sleep available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of:

• Maintenance
• Updates
• Internet problems
• Hosting issues
• Third-party service outages
• Payment-provider issues
• Security incidents
• Technical faults
• Circumstances outside our reasonable control

Where reasonably possible, we will work to restore affected services.

21. Updates and Changes

Salaam Sleep will continue to develop.

We may update:

• Features
• Designs
• Stories
• Audio
• Rewards
• Trial mechanics
• Technical systems
• Subscription options
• Supported devices
• Other parts of the service

We may discontinue features where reasonably necessary.

Where a material change significantly affects your rights or paid service, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

22. Acceptable Use

You must not use Salaam Sleep to:

• Break applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access
• Interfere with the service
• Circumvent subscription restrictions
• Manipulate free-trial systems
• Abuse reward systems
• Upload malicious software
• Scrape or systematically copy content
• Reverse engineer protected parts of the service except where law expressly permits it
• Redistribute Salaam Sleep content without permission
• Use the service to harm another person
• Upload unlawful or inappropriate material

We may restrict or suspend accounts involved in serious or repeated misuse.

23. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

• Serious violations of these Terms
• Fraud
• Payment abuse
• Security threats
• Illegal activity
• Deliberate attempts to damage or exploit Salaam Sleep

Where appropriate, we will consider the circumstances before taking action.

Nothing in this section removes your statutory consumer rights.

24. Account Deletion

You may request or initiate deletion of your Salaam Sleep account using the available account controls or by contacting support.

Account deletion may result in permanent loss of:

• Profiles
• Preferences
• Story progress
• Streak information
• Rewards
• Parent recordings
• Saved settings
• Other account-specific information

Account deletion and subscription cancellation are not necessarily the same action.

If you have an active paid subscription, ensure that the subscription is also cancelled where required.

Information about deletion and retention of personal data is provided in our Privacy Policy.

25. Third-Party Services

Salaam Sleep relies on third-party providers to deliver parts of the service.

These may include providers for:

• Hosting
• Authentication
• Payment processing
• File storage
• Audio services
• Communications
• Analytics
• Other technical infrastructure

Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, although we remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.

26. Our Responsibility to You

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

Salaam Sleep is provided for personal and family use.

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for business losses arising from personal consumer use of Salaam Sleep, to the extent permitted by law.

27. Your Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have statutory rights relating to digital content and digital services.

These Terms do not replace, restrict or remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If any part of these Terms conflicts with mandatory consumer law, the applicable consumer law will take priority.

28. Privacy

Your use of Salaam Sleep is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information.

Please read it alongside these Terms.

29. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Salaam Sleep develops or where legal, technical or commercial requirements change.

The latest version will be made available through Salaam Sleep.

The date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were last updated.

If a material change affects an existing paid service, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

30. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Salaam Sleep's UK operations and your applicable consumer rights.

If you live in England or Wales, the laws of England and Wales will generally apply.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from relying on any mandatory rights available to you under the laws applicable where you live.

31. Contact and Support

If you have questions about these Terms, your subscription, a payment, account deletion or Salaam Sleep generally, please contact us through the support/contact system within Salaam Sleep.

We will aim to respond to legitimate customer enquiries within a reasonable period.
