About This Story

Tonight's story is called A Lantern Sent With Love. When Sami's Jiddo moves far away across the desert, Sami begins to feel that some of the warmth has left his little home in Lantern Valley. One evening, a parcel arrives — wrapped in cloth, tied with string, and addressed in Jiddo's own handwriting. Inside is an old brass lantern that Sami doesn't understand at first. But as he learns the story behind it, and lights it for the very first time, Sami discovers that love doesn't need to be close by to be felt — it can travel across deserts, oceans, and long nights, carried in the smallest of gifts. By the end, Sami learns to hold his Jiddo close in a brand new way, and to send his own love back out into the world.
