About This Story

Tonight's story is called The Otter's Gift of Friendship. Otto is a little otter who loves to swim, but every evening he watches the other river creatures laughing together on the bank and wonders why nobody ever calls his name to play. When Otto finds a beautiful glimmering pebble at the bottom of the river, he believes it might finally make him special enough to be noticed. But as the days pass, Otto learns that a shiny pebble cannot make a friend — only a kind and open heart can. By the end, Otto discovers that friendship isn't something you wait to receive; it's something you give, and Crystal River becomes a little warmer for everyone because of it.
