About This Story

Tonight's story is called The Stork and the Cloud of Mercy. It takes us to the hushed reed beds of the Mercy Wetlands, where a proud, tidy young stork loses his temper with a clumsy little heron chick — and chases him away in anger. Alone in the misty evening, the stork meets a strange, low-hanging cloud that only rains where mercy is chosen. As he follows it through the marsh, he watches it comfort creature after creature, and slowly begins to understand what he has done. By the end, the stork learns that being merciful — even when we feel hurt — is what brings real peace, and that Allah اللّٰه loves those who are gentle with His creation.
