About This Story

Tonight's story is called The Octopus and the Moon Pearl. When a little octopus named Ozzy feels too worried to sleep in his cave, he sets off through the dark reef in search of the one thing his grandmother always told him about — the Moon Pearl, where every whispered dua is heard. Along the way, Ozzy meets gentle friends who help him understand that he doesn't need to find the pearl to be heard by Allah اللّٰه — he only needs to speak from his heart. By the end, Ozzy learns that a small, sincere dua whispered anywhere in the wide ocean reaches Allah اللّٰه just the same, and he drifts off to sleep feeling safe, calm, and reassured.
