About This Story

Tonight's story is called The Cricket's Evening Dua. When the sun begins to set over Twilight Grove, Little Cricket feels a strange, fluttery worry settle in his chest — the kind that comes just as the world grows quiet and dark. He tries to sing it away, tries to hide it, tries to outrun it on his tiny legs, but the worry follows him through the grove. It's only when Grandmother Cricket shows him the glowing leaf at the heart of the grove, and teaches him to whisper his heart to Allah اللّٰه, that Little Cricket discovers something wonderful: he was never carrying his worry alone. By the end, as the stars fill the sky, Little Cricket learns that a dua, however small, is always heard — and that the quietest voice in the grove can still reach the One who made the whole sky.
