When seven-year-old Ismail wanders into the whispering paths of Compass Forest, he finds a small brass compass that seems almost alive — its needle glowing whenever he tells the truth, and spinning wild and confused whenever he doesn't. When Ismail gets turned around and afraid, he's tempted to bend the truth just to feel brave in front of a new forest friend. But the deeper his little lie takes root, the more lost he becomes.
