About This Story

When a hardworking little donkey named Zaki is trusted to carry a very special basket of olives up the hill to the masjid, he feels prouder than he's ever felt. But when something goes wrong along the winding path, Zaki is tempted to stay quiet and pretend nothing happened at all. He learns that the truth can feel heavy to carry — heavier than any basket — but that telling it always makes the heart feel light again. By the end, Zaki discovers that honesty doesn't just please the people around him; it pleases Allah اللّٰه, and that is worth more than a hundred baskets of olives.
