About This Story

Tonight's story is called The Firefly of Tawakkul. When a small firefly named Nuri loses the special acorn lantern cap his grandfather gave him — right in the middle of a windy night flight — he becomes lost and afraid, far from the safe glow of Starlight Meadow. Nuri learns that Allah اللّٰه does not ask him to stop trying, but to try his best and to trust that Allah اللّٰه is always watching over him. By the end, Nuri finds his way home not because his lantern cap came back to him, but because he discovers that his own small light — given to him by Allah اللّٰه — was enough all along.

The Dua

اللَّهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إِلا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alu al-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.

O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy, and You make the difficulty, if You wish, easy.
