About This Story

Tonight's story is called Ruqqayyah and the Basket of Blessings. When Ruqqayyah's grandmother hands her the family's old woven basket, full of warm bread, honeyed dates, and sweet apricots, Ruqqayyah decides the whole basket belongs to her — every last treat. But as she carries it home through Blessing Village, she meets neighbor after neighbor with their own quiet struggles, and slowly her tight grip begins to loosen. By the end, Ruqqayyah learns that a blessing shared does not shrink — it multiplies, filling more hearts, more homes, and more of the warm night with barakah بَرَكَة (blessing) than it ever could sitting untouched in one basket.
