About This Story

Tonight's story is called Riyaadh and the Lantern Before Sleep. Riyaadh has had the busiest, most wonderful day — so busy that when bedtime comes, his heart is still running like his feet were all afternoon. When his family climbs Dreamlight Hill to light the old Sleep Lantern together, Riyaadh discovers that no matter how hard he blows or how fast he tries, the lantern won't catch flame for a hurried heart. Only when he slows down, remembers his blessings one by one, and places his trust in Allah ﷲ does the little lantern begin to glow. By the end, Riyaadh learns that bedtime isn't the end of a busy day — it's a gentle doorway into peace, gratitude, and tawakkul, trust in Allah.
