About This Story

Tonight's story is called Aisha and the Garden of Smiles. Aisha is a quiet six-year-old girl who loves to notice things — the way sunlight catches a leaf, the way somebody's shoulders drop when they're sad — but she's always found it hard to speak up in front of others. When her class visits the Smile Garden behind the masjid to help prepare it for the community Eid gathering, Aisha feels small next to all the laughing, chattering children. But with a basket of paper flowers she folded herself, and a nudge of courage from something her grandmother once told her, Aisha discovers that she doesn't need a loud voice to bring people joy. By the end, she learns that kindness doesn't have to be loud to be felt — sometimes the quietest gift is the one that makes a whole garden smile.
