About This Story

Tonight's story is called Talha and the Lantern Mountain. When a boy named Talha sets out to climb a mountain said to hold a beautiful garden at its peak, he quickly grows frustrated that the path is longer and slower than he expected. Carrying a small unlit lantern that only glows for those who climb with patience, Talha learns — step by step, breath by breath — that rushing does not make the mountain shorter, but trusting Allah اللّٰه and taking one patient step at a time does. By the end, Talha discovers that the most beautiful things are usually found just a little further than where we first wanted to stop.
